Girls' day out!

What a fun day! I spent the day with my mother-in-law and sisters-in-law doing "girl stuff". We went to a pottery place where we could paint our own ceramic pieces with the designs of our choosing.
I decided to do some small bowls that we can use for ice cream or popcorn -- whenever we need a yummy snack, we'll now have something fun to eat it out of!

Here's what they look like when you start . . .

This is the one I made for Jaden -- with his two favorite colors: green and blue. The glaze on the outside is called an "exploding" glaze. Apparently, when the piece is put in the kiln, the little bits on the outside explode with color so the bowl will be splattered with colors!

Lael's will be her favorite colors: pink and purple!
I can't wait to see the finished product!
(Hopefully I'll get them in a week or so.)
Next it was off for lunch at a creperie -- so yummy! We had to wait for a bit, but it was worth it!
Then we headed back to Cherie's house; I got some cuddle time with my niece Carrie -- who's already 6 months old! She was showing off her latest accomplishment . . . sitting up all by herself!

I thoroughly enjoyed the day . . . in fact, I'm thinking Lael and I will have to have a girls' day out so we can make the rest of the bowls for our set. After all, Mommy and Daddy like to eat ice cream too! ;)
